My Friendly Planet Work Experience Programme 16+

My Friendly Planet WEX Programme, is offering extensive creative work experience to individuals who wish to gain experience in the creative festival sector.

We are looking for CREATIVE individuals who wish to gain work experience or just play with The Creative Circle’s World Music Village – Victorious Festival 2021 creative development.

Your job is to turn up on the days you agree and join in the fun in making creating stuff!

Workshop Main Venue:

My Friendly Planet Studio 114 #2B, Waverley Road, Southsea Portsmouth PO5 2PS

Dates:

Workshops/Prop making 

TBC

  • Team Induction Workshops – Project introduction – workshops and prop making introduction. 
  • Planning  

 – 3 hours – Time TBC by the WEX PRO Team

* at least four hours a day

  • Prop Making, Tie Dye, Hand/Indian Block Printing Tree Banners, Bunting for festival & personal T-shirt.

  • Signs Making – Make your Mark + The Creative Circle sign making

Assisting the following Public Workshops/Prop making – WEX participants to attend selected projects as agreed.

Festival Date- WEX participants to attend scheduled days as agreed.

MFP WEX following roles:

  • Assistant workshop facilitator:This job is ideal for those who want to familiarise themselves with running creative workshops prior to and during the festival. This includes planning, preparing, running demonstrating, supporting participants with making and evaluation.Workshops prior to the festival include: Recycling/Upcyling/Pimping RUP Your Skateboard in collaboration with Strong Island, Prop Making Tie Dye, Hand/Indian Block Printing Tree Banners & Bunting, Sign Making
    • Facilitating Festival workshops: The Big Draw, Pebble Painting, Leaf Bashing banners, Origami & Making Your Flower Crowns, Glitter Hut.
  • Prop Maker/ onsite Installations / Manning & facilitating Workshops:This job is ideal for the person who enjoys designing, fabricating, painting and securing props on site.
    • This job also includes helping in constructing, deconstructing and manning the installations- Recycled Rhythm HUB and Bohemian Queen Workshop.
  • The Creative Circle promotion assistant – this could be job shared*:This job is ideal for those studying in Media. The role includes writing short articles of project’s workshops, prior to and during the festival– promoting The Creative Circle, Arms Around the Child and My Friendly Planet. Interviewing participants, taking photos, uploading these on social media platforms and website.

Hours of programmes & Benefits

  • 10/15 Hours– Can include assisting with workshops leading to the festival and during /Free entry to two festival days with mini-breaks – setting up/taking down – assisting with workshops and prop making.
  • 20/25 hours – Can include assisting with workshops leading to the festival and during / free entry to three festival days with mini-breaks – setting up/taking down – assisting with workshops and prop making.
  • 30/35 Hours – Can include assisting with workshops leading to the festival and during /free entry all festival days with mini-breaks – setting up /taking down– assisting with workshops and prop making.
  • 40 Hours – Can include assisting with workshops leading to the festival/free entry to all festival days with mini-breaks – setting up/taking down – assisting with workshops and prop making.
  • 50 hours + promotion assistant* – includes promoting all workshops leading to the festival and during /all festival days floating with mini-breaks – setting up/taking down.
